The same ideas, in different places.

A personal vlog about work, creativity, technology, systems, life, and whatever else.

The idea behind Frame Found.

Years ago, I came across an idea in Miyamoto Musashi's The Book of Five Rings that has kind of stuck with me ever since:

Know the Way broadly and you will see it in all things.

Basically, if you understand something deeply enough, you start seeing it everywhere.

And I feel like I've spent a pretty large portion of my life doing exactly that.

I'll notice something at work and realize I've seen the same dynamic in jiu-jitsu. Or a movie. Or technology. Or some completely unrelated conversation.

Different situation. Same underlying thing.

That's really where “the same ideas, in different places” comes from.

The Frame part of Frame Found is short for framework. I've always been interested in the thing underneath the thing. The structure. Why something works the way it does, why people behave the way they do, or why two situations that look completely different somehow have the same problem hiding underneath them.

The Found part is about discovery, but it's also a small nod to FFFFOUND!, this old image-sharing site that was basically just a constantly changing collection of interesting things people had come across.

I always liked that idea.

So Frame Found became kind of an amalgamation of both.

Frameworks and things found.

And the rest is pretty loose.

Sometimes I talk about work. Sometimes AI. Creativity. Jiu-jitsu. Movies. Life. Whatever.

Some videos are fifteen minutes. Some are thirty seconds. Some thoughts are pretty developed and some I'm very obviously still figuring out while I'm talking.

I'm trying not to over-engineer it.

If something catches my attention, I follow it for a while and record where it takes me.

That's basically Frame Found.
